RESOURCES FOR RACE DIRECTORS

EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES

Here's some good sources or ideas on where you can purchase or borrow (for free!) equipment and supplies to put on your own event.

Course equipment
Mile markers, tables, stakes, start/finish banners, flags for finish chutes, bib stringers, orange cones, water coolers and more. Currently, all of this equipment can be used for free. Groups using this equipment may make a donation to the Manhattan Cross Country Club, if they wish. You must agree to repair/replacement costs if these items are damaged or ruined. Make arrangements to pick up items by sending e-mail to melgares@LetsGoRun.com.

Digital race clock, and print timers
These can be rented from the Manhattan Cross Country Club for $50 each. You must also agree to conditions for replacement/repair costs if these items are damaged or ruined. Contact melgares@LetsGoRun.com

Safety pins
Best deal we've seen is online from Rainbow Racing. Good site for numerous other supplies, as well.

Course marking
You could just buy spray paint, but it tends to remain permanent on roads, sidewalks and other areas. Check out Rainbow Racing for "spray chalk" that fades away two weeks after your event.

Race numbers
Try buying these...they are expensive. But there's no need to buy when good companies like Runner's World and Road ID have good sponsorship programs that include free bib numbers.

Is there equipment and supplies we don't list here? Let us know by sending e-mail to melgares@LetsGoRun.com. We'll either find a source, or you can give us a suggestion!
