RESOURCES FOR RACE DIRECTORS

LISTING YOUR EVENT

As soon as you know the date of your event, you ought to be sending out information so that various groups can list your event on their calendars.

Generally, the information you need to provide includes Name of event, date and time , race distance(s), early and late entry fees, contact person, race Web site (if applicable). Different groups may require additional information. Here's a start on places to list your event for free:

LetsGoRun.com -- send e-mail to melgares@LetsGoRun. You can also feature your race on the home page for a weekly fee. This site also provides free posting of results.

Runner's World -- in addition to a free calendar listing, Runner's World will sponsor your event, send you race bags and possibly some "goodies" to go in the bags.

Active.com -- List your event, set up on-line registration, more...

Road ID -- This group exists to promote safety among walkers, joggers, runners, cyclists and other athletes. Event listing, sponsorship program, free RoadID certificates, an affiliate program and more...

Area running clubs -- Most running clubs maintain an event calendar. See our listing on this Web site and use the contact information at the sites listed to request a free listing.

This site has been developed in partnership with the Manhattan Cross Country Club, Manhattan, Kan.
The Manhattan Cross Country Club promotes age-appropriate distance running to encourage lifetime fitness and health. The Club is supported by private donations and year-round fundraising. The Club encourages principles of good sportsmanship, respect for teammates and a positive attitude toward self-improvement, confidence-building and goal-setting.
