Lee Elementary 83 ($400), Marlatt Elementary 63 ($250), Theodore Roosevelt ($250) 45, Bergman 33 ($100), Manhattan Catholic Schools 32, Flint Hills Christian School 24, Amanda Arnold 23, Bluemont 15, Woodrow Wilson 6, St. George 3, Anthony Middle School and Lincoln Elementary (Milford), 2, Eisenhower MS, Luckey Jr. High, Riley and Ogden, 1.

Percentage of students participating

Lee Elementary 31.6%; Marlatt 16.4% ($400); Manhattan Catholic Schools 15.5% ($250); Flint Hills Christian 14.1% ($100); Theodore Roosevelt 13.6% ($400); Bergman 7%; Northview 5.9%; Bluemont 5.8%; Amanda Arnold 5.1%; Woodrow Wilson 2.0%.

Approximately 380 school children participated in the first-ever Manhattan School Fitness Challenge at Warner Park.

These results are NOW OFFICIAL as of Sept 25, 2008, after confirming Fall '08 enrollment counts with USD383.

Schools are eligible to win cash prizes in one category only. Awards will be given based on the highest cash prize won by a school. If a school wins the same prize in both categories, the prize will be given for overall participants.

K-2 Heat 1 (no times kept; this heat was only for 1/4 mile runners)
K-2 Heat 2 (no times kept; 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile. Results are not separated for 1/2 milers)

Grades 3-5 (Timed 1/2 mile and 1 mile. Results are not separated.)

  • 1/2 mile winners: Male -- Luke Grieger, 3:44.34; Female -- Hannah Kordyak, 4:18.

  • 1 mile winners: Male -- Jackson Schroeder, 6:40.17; Sydney Wise-Smith, 6:57.03.

Grades 6-8 (Timed 1 and 2 mile races. Results are not separated)

  • 1 mile winners: Male -- Zane Hayden, 6:25.52; Female -- Alexis Wilson, 7:31.73

  • 2 mile winners: Male -- Evan Smith, 11:08.42; Female -- Megan Ochoa, 11:52.28
